Measures to Keep Our Kids Safe


This plan outlines the measures, controls and requirements to help minimise the risk of Covid-19 for our Athletes, Coaches and Families. We require all gym families to understand and comply with these controls to help minimise the risk of spread in our community.

Please be aware that some of these requirements are additional to those imposed by NSW Health such as interstate travel restrictions.


Club Management Measures

The measures and changes that you will observe in the operation of our Club and Classes.

  • Parents, Carers and Guardians will not be able to enter the premises. You may observe from the rear carpark area.

  • Our canteen is Closed.

  • Class Start and End Times have been altered to minimise Cross Contact between participants. Please pay attention to Class Start and End Times.

  • Gym Areas will be marked to assist with social distancing.

  • Coaches are not to attend Gym if sick or with symptoms and are to ensure 72 hours passes post symptoms before returning to gym.

  • Athletes or participants who are showing symptoms of illness will not be allowed to participate in classes.

  • Coaches who have travelled internationally or interstate in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter the gym.

  • Hand Sanitiser will be made available for all persons entering the gym. It will also be positioned strategically in the gym and near to high touch apparatus.

  • Educational Signage and Posters on Hand Washing, Personal Hygiene and Social Distancing and the Covid Safe App have been be placed in the gym areas.

  • Floor training areas will be marked with lines at 2m increments to indicate social spacing requirements to assist kids in warmup and coaches in setup of appropriate circuits

  • Increased cleaning processes have been implemented for common high tough areas and surfaces.

  • The Club will complete the Covid-19 Checklist as published by NSW Health.

  • NCG will maintain our makeup class policy as outlined in the Club Handbook for participants who are sick.


Parents and Participants

Here you can find the expectations and guidance for the Families and Participants in our Classes.

  • Do not enter the gym if you have travelled internationally or interstate in the last 14 days. No Exceptions, regardless of any exceptions that NSW Health may apply for various worker types until this policy is updated or revised.

  • Do not enter the gym or participate in classes if you or your direct family members are sick. Please only return to gym 72 hours after symptoms have cleared.

  • Wash your hands and ensure those of participants in your care are washed before coming to Gym.

  • Utilise the hand sanitiser provided on entry to the gym.

  • Parents will make every effort to drop their gymnasts off no earlier than 5 minutes before class and pick up no later than 5 minutes after class to allow changeover of participants.

  • Our Parents Viewing Area is Closed. This does not apply to KindyGym class Parent Participants.

  • Do not Drop and Run. On arrival we will ask your Adult Guardian some simple questions that they must answer to be able to participate.

    1. Have you Travelled Interstate or Overseas in the past 14 days?

    2. Have you, your participant, or anyone in your household shown signs of sickness – respiratory, cough, cold, runny nose/sniffles, fever in the past 3 days?

    3. Does your Child have their own Full Water Bottle (and other personal items required)?

    4. Do you know the Class Pick-up Time?

  • All Participants are to enter the gym in footwear and then store them neatly ahead of class.

  • We strongly encourage gym families and any participants with a Smart Phone device to download and operate the Covid-19 App by the Australian Government.

  • Participants are required to bring their own large water bottle. Competitive Athletes may want to bring multiple.


Requirements and Actions in the event of a confirmed case.

  • In the event of a Confirmed or Suspected Covid-19 case within a Gym Family or Gymnast parents are required to advise North Coast Gymnastics and NSW Health Immediately.

  • Personal details around the case or suspected case will remain confidential.

  • North Coast Gymnastics will immediately cease operations until we understand the risk to our athletes and families as we conduct a contact tracing exercise and reinforce our cleaning standards.

  • Gym Families will be notified by SMS and Email if this situation arises and we will endeavor to keep you updated on the resumption of classes​
